Fábio Oliveira moves into a newly created CTO role. Julie-Laure Mikulskis continues as COO. The three will lead YLD's next phase of growth together.
YLD is pleased to announce José Carluccio has joined YLD as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective from today. Fábio Oliveira, who has led YLD since 2020, moves into a newly created Chief Technology Officer role, and Julie-Laure Mikulskis continues as Chief Operating Officer, completing the trio that forms YLD's executive team.
The appointment follows a period of significant growth. YLD's clients are rethinking how engineering, product and design work now that AI has changed what software teams do, and the new structure gives the firm dedicated leadership on both the commercial and technical sides of that.
Fábio comments: "I have led YLD for six years and the work our teams have done in that time is what I am proudest of. This is the most significant technological change I have seen in my career, and I want to be closer to the technical direction of our work rather than further from it. José takes the commercial side, Julie continues to run operations and delivery, and I get to spend my time on the technology side.”
Carluccio joins after 15 years at McKinsey & Company, where he was a partner from 2019. He will be based in YLD's Porto office, one of three hubs alongside London and Lisbon, which operate as a single team across client engagements.
He adds: "YLD has built a reputation for engineering and design pedigree over more than a decade, embracing new technology and delivering for clients in highly regulated environments. What stood out to me was the combination of that technical depth with sustained growth and a warm company culture. I am joining at a point when organisations are rethinking how they build software, and I think there is significant opportunity ahead for the firm and its clients."
